Seed Grant Proposal Guidelines


Application and Funding Guidelines

One (1) hard copy of the original of the proposal should be submitted on or before Friday, November 2, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. to the Office of Grants and Contracts, 229 Ag Administration Building.

 

The proposal application will consist of:

 

1. The cover page with signatures and certifications (recombinant DNA, animal care, human subjects) and budget (forms are available from Sue Donlan, Kaye Fetzer, Penny Reese, or Ruth Nyman, as appropriate for your unit) in the College's Grants and Contracts Office, 229 Ag Administration Building.

 

2. The Abstract page – a stand-alone page – must include the following information:

a. Title of the proposal and the names of the PI (s) and units
b. Indicate if the proposal is interdisciplinary
c. Indicate if the proposal addresses (mark all that apply):
Research__ Extension__ Resident Education__ International Programs__
d. If the proposal addresses one of the college strategic priorities (renewable energy resources, environmental issues, pest detection and forecasting, food safety and quality, and job, economic and community development), please list the appropriate priority.
d. Project abstract description (200 words maximum)
e. Indicate extramural proposals and/or funding deriving from previous seed grant programs (if applicable; 1 paragraph maximum)

 

3. Body of the proposal (5 page limit; no appendices permitted). References can be on a separate page.

 

4. Listing of programs/deadlines to which extramural proposals might be submitted with results from seed grant support

 

5. The budget and budget justification

 

6. Current and pending support for all PIs

 

7. CV for all PIs: 2-page maximum per PI

 

Funding Guidelines

The following items will not be funded by this seed grant program:
     - faculty or extension educator salaries (including supplemental)
     - standing appointment salaries
     - travel to professional meetings

 

Funds from this program must be expended by June 30, 2008 but carry-over will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
