Seed Grant Proposal Review Criteria
Proposals are reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:
1. Innovation and intellectual merit of the proposal.
2. Clear demonstration of how the work funded by seed grant contributes to the pursuit of external funding and builds on the strength of the principal investigator and co-PIs, the academic unit(s), and the College.
3. Clarity of the abstract and the overall proposal.
4. Justification of the budget in relation to proposed research.We are particularly interested in supporting innovative proposals that feature multifunctional approaches, interdisciplinary partnerships, international activity, and attention to the College's current strategic initiatives. Of special interest in 2008 are projects addressing energy; entrepreneurship; food, diet, and health; pest prediction and response; and water quality and quantity.
