Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology Research
Research in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology is carried out within the three main program areas of food and agricultural systems, environment and natural resources, and community development.
Principal topics addressed in the food systems program include food system economics and policy, the management of farms and agribusinesses, and consumer behavior.
The environment and natural resources research program addresses economic and social issues associated with land use, environmental quality and protection, and global environmental change.
Research in community development deals with community economics and decision making, individual and family well-being, and demographic issues.
