Cheryl Markley is the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, Bruce McPheron, in the College of Agricultural Sciences. She has previous Penn State experience in the academic realm (Assistant to the Department Head in Engineering Science and Mechanics, 2005-2007), alumni relations and development (College Relations Assistant in the Smeal College of Business, 2003-2005), student services (staff assistant in Campus Life, 1988-1992), and as a Summer Sports Camps Secretary (seasonally, 1982-1987).  She has also been an adult learner at Penn State—earning an associate’s degree in Letters, Arts, and Sciences in 2001; and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2003.  

 

Cheryl volunteers on the Adult Learners Conference Committee of the Commission for Adult Learners at Penn State, and she is an assistant leader for her two daughters’ Girl Scout troop in Boalsburg.

 

When not hard at work in 217 Ag Admin, you may find her reading, gardening, camping, or off on another grand adventure with her husband and two girls.
