2009-10 Seed Grant Program details will be posted when available.
2008 College of Agricultural Sciences Seed Grant Program:
Established in 2002, the Seed Grant Program provides CAS faculty and field-based educators with resources to develop collaborative teams and/or preliminary information in new or expanding arenas of granting opportunity, enhancing competitiveness for additional external funding.
Funding for the Seed Grant Program comes from research, extension, and teaching sources. Grants are funded up to a maximum level of $15,000 per award.
Interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged, as are proposals that combine research, extension, and resident education objectives, in domestic and international areas. While all proposals will be considered, particular emphasis will be paid to excellent proposals addressing College strategic priorities. Of particular interest in the coming year would be concepts around energy; entrepreneurship; food, diet, and health; pest prediction and response; and water quality and quantity. All proposals must address the potential for extramural funding to result from the work conducted under the Seed Grant Program.
We look forward to creative applications. Investments made by the College in past years have certainly borne dividends in terms of proposals submitted to and funded by extramural sources.
Requests for proposals are announced in the summer of each fiscal year and awards are made once a year in the fall following a competitive review process.
